Bloomberg Real Estate Briefing

November 4th, 2010
New York
New York, NY
U.S. commercial real estate yields are near the highest level relative to Treasury bonds on record. Is it time to finally buy property? Commercial property sales in the Americas jumped 83 percent in the first half of the year from the depressed levels of 2009, but as debt payments on existing buildings come due in 2011 and 2012, investors remain concerned the market could fall further. The MSCI U.S. REIT index is up more than 10 percent this year, outperforming the S&P 500. Then again, housing data continues to show weakness in the market, credit is tight, and consumers are rethinking the importance of homeownership. The Bloomberg Real Estate Briefing will bring together real estate professionals with economists and financial professionals to debate the future of the U.S. real estate market and how to best make money from an investor’s point of view.
